Village Dental Practice is pleased to sponsor Whickham Academy

Working within the local community, in particular with our local schools, is most important to the staff at the staff at the Village Dental Practice.

This year we were delighted to award an iPad 2 to Year 12 student Sophie Dorner who has shown outstanding commitment to her studies throughout the year. In addition we were so impressed with the commitment of the sports leadership students that we have provided 60 students with polo shirts and sports jackets to wear whilst carrying out their sports leadership programme within the local area.

Work Experience

Every year we work with several local schools in giving their students the opportunity to engage in work experience at the Village Dental Practice.

Budding dentists and dental nurses gain an insight into the role to help them decide their future career path. Mount Kilimanjaro Charity Trek

The Village Dental Practice were pleased to sponsor Harjit Ghai on her recent fund raising adventure trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro.

Harjit (pictured to the left, with Varsha Seghal) said the following: "Not being much of a walker, and definitely not a camper, trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, seemed to be a challenge that most of my family and friends never envisaged me accepting! However, the inherent dare devil and thrill seeker (deep inside me) saw an adventure that would push my physical and emotional boundaries, in an attempt to reach the peak of the world’s highest free-standing mountain, and the highest point in Africa. The trek to the summit, 5895m above sea level, was to take six nights and seven days from the western side of the mountain."

"I feel extremely privileged to have had this truly unforgettable experience, and at the same time raise over £3000 for ‘Vision Africa’ charity. I would like to thank all of my sponsors, especially the Village Dental Practice for being extremely generous with their sponsorship of my trip, to help make this all possible."
